Academic strengths

EQUIS and AMBA accredited, the School is consistently ranked highly in the Financial Times and Economist rankings, reflecting its history of providing business education since 1918, as well as the substantial experience of a faculty comprising more than 80 teaching staff. Many staff are active in industry-based research and consultancy for commercial organisations and government bodies. This research work feeds into the quality of the teaching and helps to bring students up to date with current business issues.

Links and networks

The School fosters strong corporate links and has an extensive programme of guest speakers drawn from the local and international business community. Many of these events are open to the business community, thus facilitating excellent networking opportunities. The school also hosts a number of company recruitment presentations.The School’s links with the business community are enhanced by its many research centres and institutes including the Centre for Financial Markets Research, the Credit Research Centre, the Centre for the Study of Retailing in Scotland and the Centre for Entrepreneurship Research.

Career Prospects

The School recognises the importance of supporting students to further their career goals. This is achieved through a dedicated MBA Career, Alumni and Corporate Relations Centre, consisting of five full-time staff, who co-ordinate the career management programme, manage alumni services and promote corporate engagement. This centre provides MBA students with access to a 3,500-strong alumni network, including alumni in major companies, often at a senior level, in over 70 countries.
