Tokyo, Rikkyo University
The College of Business at Rikkyo University offers a full time, two year Master of International Business (MIB) degree program designed to develop the ability to conceptualize, plan & implement business in a diverse and intercultural context.
The degree has been established in response to industry demand for highly qualified, bilingual graduates with wide ranging international experience and the ability to conceptualize complex business problems.
The Rikkyo Master of International Business (MIB) has been designed to train both students with limited prior professional experience but strong leadership potential, and those ewho have experience but want to expand their understanding theoretical and conceptual issues in global business. This is one of the few programs of its kind in Japan. All courses are taught in English, preparing graduates to achieve their goals and boost their careers in the global market.
All students are required to have a strong command of English. Students enrolled in the double degree track have the option to earn a second Master’s degree from our exchange partner institution, in addition to the Rikkyo MIB, all in two years. Our diverse faculty body brings a multi-cultural perspective into the classroom, challenging the student to think globally across every aspect of the program. Non-Japanese speaking students may take the opportunity to study Japanese language courses offered by the Rikkyo University Language Center without incurring any additional program fees.
Business Experience Equivalent
The core curriculum in the first semester centers upon the Business Proposal Core (BPC) which is specifically designed to provide necessary skills for developing and implementing an original business initiative. The overall program is a team driven learning experience, involving a set of carefully integrated skill modules.
Students concurrently engage in developing a business proposal that applies the methodology taught in the functional modules. The two year program concludes with the Final Research Project, a modified version of executive evaluation exercises used in major corporations.
Business in Asia
In addition to the BPC, the program offers a wide array of Asia focused electives ranging from Japanese Human Resource Management to Strategic Technological Innovation in Asia. Small class sizes allow for greater interaction among students and faculty. Managers and executives from Japanese and other multinational firms in Asia are frequent guest speakers on the course.
