Specific Job Description
Military Capabilities Analyst to perform modeling and analyses of military operations as part of the Systems Engineering process. Candidate will support evaluation of military capability gaps and needs for a wide range of military missions; performing quantitative analyses, metrics evaluation, and trade studies. Candidate will perform assigned tasks to quantify the impact of operational concepts, vehicle design, payloads and tactics on survivability and military effectiveness; perform analysis to support requirements definition, concept of operations evaluation, and military utility assessment. Candidate will be expected to work within a multi-discipline environment; with responsibilities to include researching military systems performance and operations, modeling operational scenarios, preparing digital simulation input data, running digital simulations, analyzing simulation results, and documenting results.
Candidate must have a Bachelor of Science (Master of Science preferred) in engineering, applied math, physics or Operations Research. Strong analytical skills & engineering problem-solving skills required; good oral & written communication skills are essential; and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment is critical. Knowledge and application of the following system engineering techniques are critical: parametric analysis, trade studies, design of experiments, optimization, and analysis of alternatives; with previous experience in multiple criteria decision analysis, multi-variable optimization, or system architecture highly desirable. Strong computer skills are essential: Microsoft Office suite and MATLAB/SIMULINK required, with VBA, Java or C/C++ a plus. Candidate with active government clearance and previous intern experience preferred.
