Deutsche Börse Group

Description

Deutsche Börse Group is far more than a mere marketplace organizer for the trading in shares and other securities. It is one of the largest exchange organizations worldwide. With advanced technology it affords companies and investors access to global capital markets.

Deutsche Börse has a broader basis than any of its competitors. Its product and services portfolio covers the entire process chain: including securities and derivatives trading, transaction settlement, the provision of market information, as well as the development and operation of electronic trading systems. With its process-oriented business model, Deutsche Börse increases the efficiency of capital markets: issuers benefit from low capital costs; investors enjoy the advantages of high liquidity and low transaction costs.

Along with its markets, products and systems for trading and clearing, the value of Deutsche Börse Group is based on its employees: highly qualified and motivated people with pronounced strengths such as analytic-strategic thinking and intellectual competence and social skills. Deutsche Börse is of interest to potential employees primarily because of its flat hierarchies, diverse job opportunities and high level of innovation. With its transition from a pure stock exchange to a high-tech service provider to the global securities industry, the company has taken on information systems specialists, mathematicians and scientists in addition to its financial experts. The number of sales and marketing personnel has also increased.

The international orientation of Deutsche Börse Group and its subsidiaries is reflected in the makeup of its personnel: more than 3,280 people from 64 countries work in the Group’s various locations.

Clearstream / Deutsche Börse Group

Clearstream is a leading European supplier of post-trading services. As part of Deutsche Börse Group it ensures that cash and securities are promptly and effectively delivered between trading parties. It also manages, safekeeps and administers the securities that it holds on behalf of its customers. Over 200,000 domestic and internationally traded bonds, equities and investment funds are currently deposited with Clearstream. The company maintains relationships with around 2,500 customers in over 100 countries. Its global network extends across 45 markets. Backed by flexible securities lending and collateral management services, Clearstream offers one of the most comprehensive international securities services available, settling more than 330,000 transactions daily.

Eurex / Deutsche Börse Group

Eurex is the world's largest futures and options exchange and is jointly operated by Deutsche Börse AG and SWX Swiss Exchange AG. The Exchange is the market place of choice for trading and clearing of derivatives. Eurex has been a pioneer in electronic trading of derivative products for more than a decade, and it offers its customers open, democratic, simple, and cost-effective access from any point around the globe. The trading participants are connected to the Eurex system via a communications network; at present, some 700 locations worldwide are connected to Eurex.

In 2007, Eurex acquired the International Securities Exchange (ISE). This merger enabled Eurex to extend its global liquidity network to include the US market and to expand its offering of US dollar products. ISE offers equity, ETF and index options, including a portfolio of proprietary index products and enhanced market data products for sophisticated investors. ISE was founded on the principle that technology fosters and infuses new efficiencies and operational innovations into securities trading. ISE continually enhances its trading systems to provide investors with the best marketplace to execute their options orders.
