Who we are:We are the central office selecting staff to work for the Institutions of the European Union (the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union, the European Commission, the European Court of Justice, the Court of Auditors, the Economic and Social Committee, the Committee of the Regions and the European Ombudsman). Hiring Programs:We select staff by organising open competitions. These lead to both permanent positions as career civil servants, and to a limited number of fixed term contracts. Our three-stage selection process comprises: an admission test of general EU knowledge and verbal / numerical reasoning, written tests in the subject of the competition and an oral test with the selection board. A schedule of current competitions and those planned in the future is available on our Website. Locations:The European Institutions are located mainly in Brussels and Luxembourg. Overall, 70% of EU employers work in the European Commission. There are also smaller offices located elsewhere in the Member States of the European Union (Representations and Agencies) and in other countries around the world (Delegations). Major Sought: The European Institutions are looking for talented people from a wide variety of different backgrounds, experience and education, and with a wide range of skills. Suitable candidates will be highly motivated to shape and/or implement European policies. To be eligible for our competitions, candidates must have: - a satisfactory knowledge of a second EU language (English, German or French);
- for an administrators' career, a university degree and, depending on the grade, relevant work experience ;
- for an assistants' career, to have completed compulsory secondary education and depending on grade, relevant work experience
